Summer poem

Summer poem

Where the  waves crash over
The stacked up boulders.

Where the little shag in front of me
bobs in the water.

Where waves behind speed in on us
then we took of into choppy waves.

Where the jet ski tries to rock me off continuously,
before the the waves calm down.

Where the mighty cabbage tree ti kōuka
towers over the harakeke prancing in the wind.

Where the stench of the saltwater
in the ocean flows through the air and homes in on my mouth.

I am learning to use personification more often in my poems.

I am going well because for example holding on to the jet ski as it tries to rock me off continuously.
My next steps are to use many ideas of personification that connect.
